My 19 year old daughter flew for the first time by herself. We had purchased a Delta round trip ticket for her. She decided she needed to go 2 days earlier so she went standby with Air Tran to Philadelphia from Atlanta (because the Delta Fare went up plus the $100 change fee).

I later called Delta (trying to be helpful and nice) and told them that they could sell her outbound seat and make some money on it. I did not want a refund for it. The told me that she would no longer have a return ticket if she was a no-show for the first flight. "But I paid you for 2 flights and I only need one;" I said. "Sorry you will have to pay a $100 change fee and purchase a new one way ticket at the higher price." There was no reasoning with these people. I even spoke to a supervisor in Salt Lake City. She was very cut and dry and could care less about my problem. She was the un-customer service! There is no logic to their tactics. It would cost them nothing to allow my daughter to come home on her scheduled flight.

So; I basically to Delta to go jump in the lake and I went to Air Trans web-site and bought her a seat for only $79.00. Why would I ever want to purchase a ticket from Delta ever again?

I own a business and my employees and I need to fly quite a bit. Delta lost me over their stupid rules.

Over something that would have cost them nothing; that I already paid for. Today they lost thousands of dollars in future travel from me and my company (I book all the flights). Lately I have noticed that the AirTran planes were nicer and cleaner anyway.

In my own business I go out of the way to make my customers happy. I even lose money sometimes to appease a customer.

Delta does not get it. They are trying to survive and were almost bankrupt. They are not making any friends with these type of rules. They don't even need a customer service department because that is not what it is; they don't help, they just the enforcers. Delta is out with me forever.
