Avoid flying Delta all you can.

Delta has a 45 min baggage check-in cut-off time that will not let you board the plane if you need to check-in baggage. I missed my flight on Dec 1, 2008 from LAX to Orland Florida because I got to the check stand a few minutes late after waiting in line for more than an hour to check my baggage.

It seems Delta strategically found a way to make profit (without raising the ticket price) by helping you miss the flight to impose a minimum of $150 penalty and other re-booking fees.

Sally, it's easy to say to get to the airport early because it did not happen to you. I got to the airport more than 2 hours before the flight and still missed the flight because I wasted so much time waiting in the check-in line. There were at least 10 to 15 people in line also missed the flight as well. You must be working for Delta to call all of them idiots. Let see how you feel next time when you miss a flight after getting there so early, but then again if you work for Delta, that will never happen....

Next time grow up and go earlier, or face the consequences, you must be a child to now know that there are consequences to being late.
