I work in an airport at one of the car rentals. For the most part I like my job, but I guess after working around Delta's MANY DELAYED flights for over the last 3 years I've gotten a bit sick and tired of it.

We close at 8pm unless we have a delayed flight since were in an airport we work around the flights. Well almost EVERY NIGHT I work (I work full time mind you) the flight is DELAYED!! That puts me after closing time anywhere from an hour to 4 plus hours depending. It's just gotten out of control lately.

If you know your staff is about to time out for the day why is there not already employee's ready to fill in, I don't know like a shift change? Or if the plane is under a maintenance delay why is there not a mechanic already there just in case? We had a delay yesterday for maintenance to find out the plane had already been sitting broke for over 4 hours before customers were directed to another gate putting that flight over 2 hours late. Delta NEVER updates there web site anymore to show accurate information leaving us sitting here not knowing what's going on.

It's not far to have to stay passed the time I get off work because they can't be on time. Once in a while I can understand, but ALL THE TIME??

Last year I went 3 dang months with delays EVERYDAY no joke. I understand there is going to be maintenance delays, flight delays due to weather, things like that, but I do not think that 5 days a week having delays on one for more flights out of a 7 days week is acceptable and more like just plain ridiculous!

I am sorry about the guy who works late every night at the car rental agency. By now he should know not to plan anything or switch to the day shift if possible.

But how about all of those passengers who plan to be somewhere based on Delta's published arrival times? How fair is it to all those people? They can choose to fly with another carrier, but what about the time they choose Delta. I don't think he is whining.

I think people should do what they say they are going to do and Delta is notorious for being late. It's ashamed they took over Northwest Airlines out of Minnesota because they are a culture of honorable people and that airline was really good.

Hey *** bag, you think Delta's the ONLY airline with maintenance, weather and crew delays? *** The airlines can't afford to staff a $75K/yr FAA licensed maintenance tech at EVERY station, so they outsource maintenance at some cities and sometimes it takes a while for the contract maintenance vendor to do their thing.

Crew time out? Sorry, but airlines can't afford to fly with a spare crew member.

Get out of the travel business ***, because airlines, rental cars, and hotels all work TOGETHER or find ANOTHER line of work! Frigging cry baby.
