Since Delta (and most other flights) charge $25 to check a bag, almost everyone has a carry on these days. Well, I was in the last zone to board the plane and of course there is no more room for my bag.
The (rude) flight attendants told me I had to gate check my bag and I could pick it up at baggage claim. Which completely defeats the purpose of having a carry-on. I get to baggage claim to claim my bag and the handle is broken. I go to the baggage claim office in Washington National (DCA) airport only to have the Supervisor "Ben" tell me that they do not cover broken handles.
However, my handle was not broken when you forced me to gate check my bag because of space and your company is responsible. I cannot even pull the bag anymore!!! The supervisor wanted to give me a $25 Delta voucher which is useless since that does not cover is damage to my bag. So the supervisor changed his mind while I was standing there and decided not to give me the voucher and told me to move out of the way so he could take the next customer.
Delta has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. This is enough to make me (or my husband) NEVER fly with Delta again
