On take off, the plane is moving between 160-180 knots.What happens if they have to slam on the brakes?That precious bag of yours is going to fly through the cabin an injure or kill someone.No one cares what's in it or why. You were probably asked nicely a few times to stow it for safety reasons that are beyond your selfish wants.Bad news, the rules are the same for any airline.Next time take the bus.

You sound very naïve to me. Lost baggage happens - with all airlines.

Not often, but it does happen. When you have the sheer number of bags going in and out of planes on connecting flights every day, its actually super surprising it doesn't happen more often.

To assume that someone deliberately lost your bag makes it sound like you live in unicorn/puppy land. You probably shouldn't fly anymore.

Lost my baggage and can't find and deliver it for 3+ days | Delta Airlines in Seattle, Washington

I had long trip from Moscow (Russia) to Seattle (WA, US) via Amsterdam and Portland (OR, US) with long layover (~12h) in Amsterdam (so, from 7/27 to 7/28). In Moscow I was told to pickup baggage in Portland, OR (it is sounds more logical, because you should cross border with baggage). When I arrived to Portland International Airport (7/28) I waited for my baggage but it wasn't there. I was told by Delta's representative - "if your baggage is not here, you will pick it up in Seattle" - my baggage will be transferred to Seattle and I'm not needed to pick up it right now to cross US border with it. So, I crossed US border without my baggage. When I arrived to Seatle (7/28) my baggage wasn't there. I was told by Delta representetive my baggage is still in Amsterdam and it will be delivered today (7/28) or tomorrow (7/29) and they will call me. Until late night next day they didn't call me. I checked delta.com/trackbag using reference number they gave me when I reported lost baggage claim. There was following information (original order of messages preserved): Jul 29, 2017 10:45:00 AM PDXBag Expedited on DL 1968 PDX-ATL Jul 29 DL 673 ATL-UIO Jul 30 Jul 28, 2017 03:35:00 PM SEAClaim File Created Jul 27, 2017 03:52:00 PM AMSBag Tagged for DL 179 AMS-PDX Jul 28 DL 5686 PDX-SEA Jul 28 WHAT?!?!?! My baggage is on the way to UIO, Ecuador!!! What the heck?! I called to +1-800-325-8224 - this number was mentioned on red booklet they gave me in SeaTac (Seattle airport). I was told by Delta representative my baggage is on the way to UIO, Ecuador but right now it is in Atlanta, GA and they will re-route it to Seattle on Sunday morning (7/30). Next morning (7/30) I checked TrackBag and saw following information (original order of messages preserved): Jul 30, 2017 02:06:00 PMATLBag being routed to carousel Jul 29, 2017 10:17:00 PMPDXBag On Plane DL 1968 PDX-ATL Jul 29 Jul 29, 2017 11:45:00 PMATLBag Expedited on DL 2039 ATL-SEA Jul 30 Baggage was still in Atlanta, GA. I called again to Delta and I was told they were really sorry about this situation and they will send baggage with next avaiable flight. And they've sent my baggage on DL 1107 and it arrived at late night on Sunday (7/30). Jul 30, 2017 09:42:00 PMSEADelivered to Claim Area 4 Jul 30, 2017 06:51:00 PMATLBag On Plane DL 1107 ATL-SEA Jul 30 Jul 30, 2017 05:45:00 PMATLBag Expedited on DL 1107 ATL-SEA Jul 30 But it was the wrong baggage, not mine. It was different baggage with my flight tag on it. And it also had the card with owner's name on it. Looks like it was baggage which should originaly beeing send to UIO, Ecuador. But because of misplaced the flight tag it was send to Seattle. So, Delta representative in SeaTac told me that they don't know where is my baggage. And I should continue calling to +1-800-325-8224 and ask them about where is my baggage now everyday. So, Delta couldn't delivery my baggage for 3 days (from 7/28 to 7/30) and still can't (7/31). What else? Oh, Delta representatives just gave me pack of one-use things - tooth brush and paste and etc. But they even didn't mentioned that I can buy 1 pair of socks, pants and etc. every day, because of they can't deliver my baggage on time. They didn't told me about this apportunity until I asked them about it. So, is it how you respect the passanger/client rights, Delta? So, on 3rd day (3rd!!!!) I was noticed that I'm able to buy socks, pants and etc. But because of they told me on 3rd day only, I can compensate money only from 7/30 and later. It means I can't buy right now 3 pairs of socks and pants for 7/28, 7/29, 7/30 - only for 7/30. Because they will look on reciept date and it will shows that I bought 3 pairs on 7/30 instead of by 1 pair every day. What else? Oh, Delta representatives just gave me pack of one-use things - tooth brush and paste and etc. But they even didn't mentioned that I can buy 1 pair of socks, pants and etc. every day, because of they can't deliver my baggage on time. So, I asked them is it possible to leave baggage in SeaTac until I'll came back in a week and I was told it is not possible!!! So, I should wait until they found my baggage but how long?! 1 day, 3 days, week?! Who knows? Nobody! What about my time and my plans?! Who will compensate it?
