No matter what airline you travel on you have the same problems. i have tried several different airlines and had much worse customer service.

Do yourself a favor and Do Not put expensive items in your checked luggage including expensive bags, gifts, or clothes. If you do have expensive clothes try taking pictures and get insurance. Read every line on the website about children, special needs, or other concerns; and if you still have questions, email them and print out answer and take with you.

I always carry basic clothes in my carry on and have funds set aside for emergency clothes, hotel and other minor problems that can turn in to big disasters if you are not prepared. Seems over the top but I have discovered the being prepared is a lot easier than not.

That is the best advice I have read. Too many people spend thousands of dollars on airline tickets without reading the rules, but would not spend a few hundred in a store without reading everything.

Not all airlines are the same. Throw out any assumptions and expectations that are not written in THE CONTRACT you are signing.

Finally, if when you purchase the tickets you check the box you have read and agreed to the terms of the ticket, then don't complain if something in the terms cause you problems later. In those cases, the problem is the purchaser.
