DELTA Airlines lost bike plus charges excessive fees
Delta airlines charges excessive handling fees of $200/per bicycle/per flight while other airlines take those as second piece of luggage.
In addition, Delta did not ship the bikes with our flights and one bicycle is completed unaccounted for while the other bike was delivered 15 hours after our arrival.
There is no clear information available on how to handle this situation - how long do we have to wait before we can start our vacation and replace the bike? Will Delta refund us since they require receipts for items over $250 - we don't have the receipt since the bikes were purchased 3 years ago and we definitely did not bring receipts when going on vacation. Will we receive a refund of the handling fees since the bikes weren't brought on the flight in the first place?
Other than apologies from the Zurich Airport we have not received any information from Delta.
